3 weeks old

Rosalinn is 3 weeks old today! I can't believe she is growing up so fast. She lost her umbilical cord 2 nights ago and so tonight is our first bath night. Very exciting! Here are some pictures.

Vikings Game

Here is a great picture from Sunday of Matt, Rosie, and I all dressed up for football Sunday!!

Baby is here!!

Rosalinn Jane Pierson was born on September 10, 2009 at 3:09am. She weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 inches long. She is just the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It all started when my water broke at 2:25pm on 9/9/09. We went to the hospital and they confirmed it. I labored on my own for a while, but wasn't progressing, so they started pitocin. I still did not progress well and contractions became quite intense. After 6 hours of natural labor, I opted for an epidural. It still took quite a bit more pitocin for me to progress, but once I began it went fast. I went from 5cm to 9cm in about a half an hour. I stayed there for about an hour before being able to push. 45 mins later, Rosalinn was born. She was perfect from the beginning. I had some complications after birth. My contractions immediately stopped after she was born and I started bleeding pretty bad. I lost about a liter of blood, but they were able to get things stopped before any major issues arose. About an hour after birth, I was able to hold my little girl. So precious!! We are home now and she is doing great. She is breastfeeding well and loves to open those eyes and look around at the world. She takes everything in. Here are some pictures.

September 8, 2009

Went to my doctor's appointment today and I am 5cm dilated, 80% effaced, and at a -2 station. Whatever all that means, right? The doctor said that I should be going into labor soon because of how dilated I am. I have been having contractions all day that started out at every 10 mins, went to every 8 mins, and are now between 5-7 mins apart. They are not very strong yet, so I am holding steady at home until they get stronger or more regular. If they continue through the night, I will go to the hospital in the morning to get checked. I will keep you updated.

Belly Pics

Here are a couple of belly pics from 37 weeks (yellow shirt) and 39 weeks (brown shirt). Getting close to meeting our little girl soon. We are very excited. Last time I went to the doctor, I was 4cm dilated and still 80% effaced. I am getting closer, but seems like forever until I will meet her. I have a doctor's appointment today and will update you with the results.

Doctor's appointment August 25, 2009

I went to my doctor's appointment today and things continue to look great! I am still at least 3 cm dilated and now 80% effaced. The baby has officially dropped and boy did she drop. The doctor was pretty surprised. The heartrate was 150 beats a minute and she is doing great. Last appointment, the doctor did an ultrasound and the baby looks like she weighs around 6 lbs 12 oz. Of course, the most important part, she looks healthy. The doctor thinks that I will go naturally before my due date. I have been having contractions, but nothing major yet. We will keep you updated!!!

August 12, 2009

Well, I went to the doctor today for another checkup. I am now on my weekly checkups. I've gained 27 lbs. so far and my blood pressure looked great. I am measuring at 35 weeks and I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow. The doctor checked my cervix and I am dilated to 3cm and effaced to 70%. I was very surprised because I didn't even know I was having contractions. The doctor was very pleased with this and she said that our little girl can come whenever she wants to. She did not have an estimate on when it would happen, but said it could happen anytime from tomorrow to a week from now to a month from now. She just told me to keep up my exercising and that it will help things go much smoother when delivery comes. Here are a couple of belly pics from this morning.

Doctor's appointment and Childbirth Class

So, I went to the doctor and everything still looks great! I am measuring at 34 weeks, so just a week behind where I am at. The doctor didn't have any concerns. The heartrate was between 130 and 140 beats a minute and she was very pleased with that. The doctor said that she wants me to come in weekly from now on and if I start having contractions to wait until they are 5 minutes apart and come into labor and delivery cause they will let her come if she wants to.

I have still been feeling really good, but I'm starting to have labor and delivery dreams. I have had two as of last night. I had one dream that I delivered and nursed the baby (it's still a girl in my dreams) and one of having contractions, which wasn't really fun.

We went to our first childbirth class last night. It was pretty informative and we had a good time. We learned the breathing techniques last night and so Matt and I are going to practice them. He gets to twist the skin on my arm and I have to breath through it, which he seems to be getting a kick out of for some reason. I have to say that I have learned a little that I didn't know from the class, but I think the next three will be really helpful.

Nursery photos

Here is the nursery so far and all the things I got from my baby showers. I pretty much have everything done except for my border, which has been a pain in the butt. So, I have decided that the next time Dad comes out, he is going to do it :) Problem solved. I see the doctor on Wednesday for my checkup. Wish me luck...

Baby Shower #2

I had my baby shower this weekend and it went very well. So many people showed up and it was beautiful weather. I got so many nice things from people and it was just really nice to relax and visit with everyone. I was able to get my nursery set up this weekend as well. I don't have a picture of that yet, but will by tomorrow. I do have some pics of the baby shower...here they are!

July 21, 2009

I went for my doctor's appointment yesterday and it went very well. My weight has stayed the same and blood pressure is good. I measured right on target...32.5 cm. The baby's heart sounded great, but they didn't tell me what the beats per minute was. The doctor said that I am doing great and to just keep up the good work, whatever that means. We talked about some birth plan information and then I was free to go. Here is a picture from this yesterday.

July 7, 2009

I went to my doctor's appointment today. They measured my belly and it was at 29.5 cm and I should be around 30, so she was very pleased with that. We listened to the heartbeat and it was 140 beats a minute, which is right in the middle. My blood pressure is 118/78, so no problems in that area. I did gain 7 lbs., but the doctor was not concerned at all with it. She stated that I am right on target and just keep doing what I'm doing. She also felt that a lot of the weight gain is due to swelling and the swelling is probably due to the hot weather. I was very happy to hear the good news. I thought I'd share it with everyone. I'll get some more pictures up soon!!

July 4th - 30 weeks

Went to the lake this weekend and got a swimsuit photo! Everything is good here. My next appointment with the doctor is on Tuesday, so I'll update you then.

June 22nd, 2009

I went in for my 28 week doctor's appointment. The doctor said that I am measuring at 28 weeks, which was good. She also said that the baby's heartrate is 160 beats a minute, which is good. I also gained 3 lbs, so we didn't have to have a talk over my diet, which was AWSOME! I have been having some Braxton Hicks contractions, so the doctor said to take it a little easier. So, I may have to cut out mowing the lawn...darn (sarcastically said). I got my blood drawn to test for gestational diabetes, anemia, and antibodies. I did not get a call back saying anything was wrong, so I am assuming that I am healthy as can be. I have graduated to seeing the doctor every other week, so I go back in on July 7th for my next appointment. Keep us in your prayers over the next couple of months as we get closer to the due date.

3rd Trimester

I am finally in my 3rd trimester and still feeling pretty good. I just returned from Ohio visiting my family. I was thrown a baby shower, and it was awsome! I got some really cute things and was able to spend some quality time with the women of the family. I also got to spend time with the rest of my family at my cousin's graduation pool party. Here are some pics of the baby shower and my big ol' belly.

May 26, 2009

I got to see our little one again today very briefly. It was the tie breaker appointment and the baby is definitely a GIRL!! I also gained 10 pounds in the last 5 weeks, which the doctor was happy about. However, she did say that if I gained another 10 pounds by next month, she would be having a talk with me :) Our little girl is very healthy with a heartrate of 150 beats per minute. She is getting very big and is moving and kicking a lot. Matt has been able to feel her since about 18 weeks with big kicks, but now feels her on even her slightest movements. We are very excited to meet her and welcome her into our family. I will be 25 weeks on Thursday, which means only 15 weeks left to go!!

23 week belly picture

Just thought I'd put an updated belly picture in my new shirt that I got. Nothing really new here. Next week I get to see the baby again.
